CCWF Dress Code & Protocols

Please Note: You must carry a valid photo ID and present it upon request. The ID must match the identification submitted on your clearance forms in order to enter the facility.

CONTRABAND

  1. No persons under the age of 18 years.

  2. No cell phones, pagers, cameras, or recording devices of any kind.

  3. No weapons of any kind. Weapons may be checked in at the East Gate.

  4. No tobacco products of any kind. No cigarette lighters or matches.

  5. Unless medically necessary, no handbags, purses, backpacks, etc. Wallets are permitted.

**During rainy weather or where rain is imminent, a guest may bring an umbrella. Umbrellas must be compact or collapsible models not exceeding 18 inches in length when collapsed. Umbrellas with pointed ends are not allowed. Umbrellas may only be carried during inclement weather and must be secured in a manner that prevents loss or theft. Please note that tours may be cancelled during inclement weather.**

DRESS CODE

The following clothing is prohibited for tour visitors:

  1. Clothing that resembles state-issued incarcerated clothing, including blue denim pants, blue shirts, blue jackets, blue shorts, or blue pants of any shade.

    -No grey denim pants, grey shirts, grey jackets, or grey shorts.

    -No blue chambray shirts, jackets, or pants.

    -No sweatshirts or sweatpants.

    -No weightlifter pants.

    -No sweatsuits, including conventional or designer jogging suits.

    -No orange pants, shirts, jumpsuits, or shorts.

    -No yellow raincoats or rain pants.

    -No lime green pants, shirts, jumpsuits, or shorts.

  2. No fabric made in a manner that resembles blue denim material or state-issued clothing. Black denim slacks and jackets are approved unless so faded that they cannot be distinguished from blue denim. Acid-washed or stone-washed materials must be clearly distinguishable from inmate clothing.

  3. No revealing clothing.

    -No transparent clothing.

    -No tank tops or sling shot tops.

    -No strapless, halter, spaghetti strap, or bare midriff clothing.

    -Tights are acceptable under dresses or skirts.

    -Skirts may be no more than 2 inches above the knee. Slits may not expose more than mid-thigh.

    -Dress shirts or blouses may not be unbuttoned past the second button from the top.

  4. No attire displaying obscene or offensive language, logos, or drawings.

  5. No camouflage or military style clothing.

  6. No open toe shoes, clogs, or strapless shoes.

NO HOSTAGE POLICY

Familiarize yourself with the following statute taken from California Code of Regulations, Title 15, Section 3304, Hostages:

“Employees must not permit inmates or others to use hostages to escape from custody or otherwise interfere with orderly institutional operations. Hostages will not be recognized for bargaining purposes. All inmates, visitors, and staff will be informed of this regulation.”
